GETTING SUPPORT · 3 MIN READ
When a repayment becomes difficult
Take an early, practical step and ask for help.
Contact the lender early
Explain what changed and ask what assistance is available. Keep records of your communications and any agreed plan.
Review the essentials
List necessary spending, income and all debt commitments. Borrowing more to cover an existing payment can increase the difficulty.
Ask for a clear response
Request written terms for any arrangement, including fees, interest and credit-reporting implications. Formal assistance and referral routes differ by country and must be verified.
Examples use ZAR. No current market rates, fuel prices or CPI values are claimed. This is general education, not a personalised recommendation.
