Spot the warning signs of a loan scam
Protect your identity, bank details and money.
Check who you are dealing with
Verify the lender’s legal identity, authorisation and contact details independently. Do not rely only on a logo, social-media message or screenshot.
Keep secrets secret
Never share banking passwords, PINs or one-time codes with someone who contacts you. A legitimate application must explain why each document is needed.
Be wary of pressure
Guaranteed approval, urgency and unexpected payment requests deserve careful checking. Stop and verify through an independently confirmed channel.
